Lucky Cat (final, pre-animation)
I probably won’t get around to animating this for a while, with TCAF and a couple other things going on this month. So here is the final rendered piece. Thanks for following along! I hope the process gifs helped show how one can easily construct a space in photoshop.
I will have some prints of this as well as several of my other pieces and a new zine for sale at TCAF this weekend! Will you be there? I want to meet you.

Candy Capers #1 - Variant Cover C
(available for pre-order here)
I did one of the variant covers for the new Adventure Time spin-off comic series Candy Capers, starring Peppermint Butler & Cinnamon Bun and being written by Johnny Wander and drawn by Ian McGinty. I am beyond excited to contribute art to another stellar AT comic series. I love that BOOM pulls in lots of different artists for each of these series and continues to expand the AT universe. I can’t wait to read this issue!

Lucky Cat progress 2 (part 1 here)
I’ve been nitpicking at this since the last post. I did some re-framing and nudging, and painted in most of the little details! but the lucky cat’s arm is missing. I’m planning to animate it. Process/tutorial post to follow soon.

Zhangye Danxia
The Zhangye Danxia is a unique landform found in China. The mountain range seems to be made of candy-bright stripes of different sedimentary rock layers that have been forced upwards and carved down by time, revealing slices of Earth’s colorful past.
This little piece is part of the Light Grey Art Lab show Macro & Micro (Minerals category), which will be opening this Friday in Minneapolis, MN. Check out the site for more info. You can also buy this print or any of the other pieces in the show HERE! I am floored by all the awesome art that was made for this show, and really honored to just be a part of one of LGAL’s awesome exhibitions!

How to create anonymous email accounts
I little spot I did for a Wired UK how-to article about creating anonymous email accounts. I may or may not have already been familiar with the process outlined in the article, so this was fun to do! Thanks AD Ben Fraser.

A Year In Trees
A made this animated/print piece to accompany the beautiful op-ed story “A Year in Trees” for the NY Times. I was really excited to try animating something like this. Thanks AD’s Erich Nagler and Aviva Michaelov !

Apple Stereogram
I made this as a test for another project, and printed up a few to hand out at MoCCAfest! (Here’s a post of my haul from today) Thanks to all the super-nice people who traded with me, accepted my silly gifts, and just stopped to say hi! Seriously, so high on love right now.

Misato Katsuragi Dreams of the Second Impact
Misato didn’t appeal to me when I watched Eva the first time, but re-watching it recently as an adult I’ve come to really like her. She seems carefree and detached, but she’s suffered greatly and struggles against many obstacles, from patriarchy to the threat of global annihilation. Also she has good taste in beer.
This piece was done as part of the Red Cross Book Eva fan zine.
