TCAF 2013: Maritsa and Rebecca take Toronto
This weekend Maritsa Patrinos and I will be at table 242 on the 2nd floor. You can check out my debut zine Laundry Story and Maritsa’s debut zine No Touching, and pick up a copy of My First Time Buying Condoms. Maritsa will have come beautiful comics, zines, books and prints for sale, and I will be selling prints!! We will also have copies of the Red Cross Book, Melissa Ling’s zine 24 and stationary by Rosa Chang.
Laundry Story (excerpt pgs 5-8)
I’m sorry for dumping so many posts all at once guys! Its just that everything is happening at once this week. Laundry Story is a 12-page comic I drew after a conversation with Aimee Fleck about our mutual love of laundromats. I drew this during stolen hours late at night and between projects. A small edition is being printed just for TCAF! Come see me and Maritsa Patrinos at table 242 :)

I probably won’t get around to animating this for a while, with TCAF and a couple other things going on this month. So here is the final rendered piece. Thanks for following along! I hope the process gifs helped show how one can easily construct a space in photoshop.

Candy Capers #1 - Variant Cover C

I did one of the variant covers for the new Adventure Time spin-off comic series Candy Capers, starring Peppermint Butler & Cinnamon Bun and being written by Johnny Wander and drawn by Ian McGinty. I am beyond excited to contribute art to another stellar AT comic series. I love that BOOM pulls in lots of different artists for each of these series and continues to expand the AT universe. I can’t wait to read this issue!

Lucky Cat progress 2 (part 1 here)
I’ve been nitpicking at this since the last post. I did some re-framing and nudging, and painted in most of the little details! but the lucky cat’s arm is missing. I’m planning to animate it. Process/tutorial post to follow soon.

Zhangye Danxia
The Zhangye Danxia is a unique landform found in China. The mountain range seems to be made of candy-bright stripes of different sedimentary rock layers that have been forced upwards and carved down by time, revealing slices of Earth’s colorful past.
This little piece is part of the Light Grey Art Lab show Macro & Micro (Minerals category), which will be opening this Friday in Minneapolis, MN. Check out the site for more info. A Year In Trees
